Last week I got a chance to photograph Zozobra for The Wall Street Journal, the first of three assignments. Hit the link to see more photos. Viva la fiesta!

Holm and St. John for the Communicator

8818_137709741820_627106820_3081635_4630805_nSince former Washington DC based Rocky Mountain News reporter ME Sprengelmeyer purchased the Guadalupe County Communicator, he has put an emphasis on getting good photography into the small weekly paper. I was honored to be included this week with a football photo above the fold on A1. My friend and personal photo editor Mark Holm has been a regular contributor, and also has a photo on the front page. Very cool to see in a time when all you hear is bad news for newspapers. Former Rocky star and fellow Scripps Howard castoff Chris Schneider has also made some wonderful features around Santa Rosa for the paper.

Roxbury suites in Albuquerque

Sorry for the long break in posting. So much has happened. I’ve moved Steven St. John Photography to new permanent headquarters on Montgomery here in Albuquerque and I thankfully have been busy making pictures in addition to the move. Here are a few selects from a recent shoot for the Roxbury Suites last week. They hired me to improve the quality of the images that represent them in their website, which they will be updating this fall. They offer great short term rentals that are elegantly furnished and in a very central location.  A home away from home for people working in Albuquerque on the short term. I’ve traveled to a lot of places in my time, and I wish more places like this were available.
